About the institute

The International English Institute exists to give working professionals and scholars and younger learners English teaching that actually fits their goals — taught by qualified professionals who understand individual needs. It was founded by Lenethia Van Vuuren, the Dean of the institute, with degree-level training in Business English. The institute was built for professionals who need English to work for them—not just to pass a test, but to lead meetings, negotiate confidently, and advance their careers.

She brings extensive experience as an ESL professional and is TEFL certified. Alongside her degree-level Business English training, she holds additional educational training in Early Childhood Development (ECD) methodologies, which underpins our Kids Curriculum. Her broader educational background means she can support both sides of our student base, and as the institute grows, every teacher we bring on will be held to the same standard. She has also completed training in software specialisation and AI, which informs her work with professionals in technical fields.

For working professionals, that means English you can actually use: meetings, negotiations, emails, presentations, interviews, and client communication across many industries.

For scholars and younger learners, it means structured preparation for IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge exams, plus academic reading, writing, and study skills for school and university.
